Hi Madonna,

I'm knitting my first hat and have a problem with this one item. The directions stat, "...increase two stitches in the last stitch on needle 1 by working k1, yo, k1." How do I increase 2 stitches into the last stitch? I'm not understanding those instructions?

Thanks for your help,
Laura

You're in for some fun! First insert the right needle into the stitch on the left needle and draw through your first stitch WITHOUT TAKING THE STITCH OFF THE LEFT NEEDLE. Then wrap your yarn around the right needle and THEN insert the right needle into the back side of the stitch on the left needle from front to back left, wrap the yarn around the right needle and pull back through the way you came. Then you can take the stitch off the left needle and should have made two additional stitches on the right needle (plus the original stitch).

Have a great new yarn,
Madonna
